Once described as “the dance that could melt a stone”, Turkish oriental dance is earthy, grounded, energetic and exciting!
Workshop
3:30 - 6pm EST
Learn a blend of Turkish Oriental and Romany dance stylizations and technique that will deepen your love and appreciation of the dance and music of this culture-rich region of the world.
You can expect to learn:
Part 2 will cover combos to put it into action
Workshop attendees will have the option to perform in the gala show! Limited performance spots are available, and will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
*This is a multi-level workshop. Different variations of the same movements, combos and choreography will be provided to accommodate all levels.

About the Instructor

Kim Leary is a world dance performer, choreographer and instructor who is well regarded for her teaching skills which focus on identifying learning styles of her students and incorporating her knowledge of anatomy, music and cultural context for an enriched and creative learning experience.
She is Co-Artistic Director of Groove Merchant Drum & Dance Ensemble and Co-Director of her school, The Drum & Dance Learning Center. Kim has been involved in the multi-cultural music and dance genres since 1989. |
