An 8-Week Online Belly Dance Class Series January-February
Tuesdays, 7 - 8:15pm EST
If you've always been fascinated by belly dance but have been intimidated by the thought of trying it yourself, this class is for you!
Yamê specializes in teaching newbies with no prior dance experience and in fostering a positive environment in all her classes.
Not only will you learn how to move your body in beautiful ways (and have fun doing it), but you will also gain a deeper love and appreciation for yourself while you're at it.
In our beginner belly dance course you will learn:
Basic posture, carriage & arms
Beginner belly dance steps & isolations
Combining & transitioning between movements
Fun beginner choreography
A bit about the musical & cultural contexts of belly dance
The classes will air live over Zoom video conference on the following Tuesdays, 7pm EST: January 5, 12, 19, 26 February 2, 9, 16, 23 Each class is 1 hour 15 minutes long and you will receive an email with notes about the topics covered and/or a short video with the class combination or choreography within 24 hours of each class.
If you miss a class, you can make it up on a Wednesday or Thursday before the end of the series.
By the end of the 8-week course you will have the option to advance to our ongoing level 2 class, or to repeat level 1 as many times as you wish until you are comfortable with the basics.
