Learn how to play one of the most prominent percussive instruments in Arabic music: the darbuka (also known as Egyptian tabla, dumbek, doumbek, or derbake)!

Nov 7, 14, 21 (no classes on Nov 28!)

(winter class dates will be announced towards the end of the fall)

- Foundational darbuka strokes
- Common rhythms in Arabic music
- Exciting variations and ornamentation techniques
- Playing along to belly dance music
- Improvisational skills for playing drum solos

Requirements
You will need your own darbuka (at least 17'' tall) if you are taking the class online. Contact us for vendor recommendations and discount codes!
If you are taking the class in person, let us know ahead of time if you will need to borrow a spare darbuka.
