In this online workshop we will blend techniques from Egyptian raqs sharqi ("belly dance") together with metal headbanging, while drawing some inspiration from dances such as Khaleegy, raqs kawliya, Sufi whirling and other Middle Eastern trance practices... all done to metal!
Expect to hear tracks from a wide variety of metal genres and to expand your music tastes while having fun moving your body and releasing tension and stress.
This workshop will be:
2 hours long, live on Zoom, including: technique drills done to Yamê's current favorite metal tracks combos and/or possibly a choreography
Recorded: A recording (of Yamê only) will be temporarily available for 30 days after the class, so you can re-watch and practice, or just use the recording if you miss the livestream
Multi-Level: Yamê breaks everything down from scratch and offers multiple variations to accommodate multiple levels
Limited: Maximum of 15 people in the live class so that everyone can get individual attention and feedback
On Friday, September 20, at 7 - 9pm EST Use a time zone converter if you are outside of the US East Coast
