Learn belly dance sword drills leading up to a full sword choreography, including:

Sword "striking" moves
Sword balancing techniques
These classes will be held on the following Saturdays in July, 2021:
Week 1 (Parts 1 & 2) - Saturday July 10, 10:30am - 1pm EST Week 2 (Part 3) - Saturday July 17, 11am - 12:30pm EST Week 3 (Part 4) - Saturday July 24, 11am - 12:30pm EST (Use a time zone converter if you are outside the US East Coast)
These are live, interactive online classes taught over Zoom. These classes will not be recorded, but a short clip of the section of the choreography we work on each week will be available until the following week.
No sword experience is needed. Some belly dance experience is preferred, but dancers of all levels are welcome!
What You'll Need
You will need a scimitar that is balanced and appropriate for dancing.
It is preferred that you use a sword that does not have a knuckle guard.
You'll want your sword hilt to have no obstructions so that you can easily switch hands and switch grips.
It is preferred that you purchase a scimitar with a sheath.
We use the sheath instead of the sword for some of the repetitive drills, to avoid causing repetitive stress injuries. If your scimitar does not have a sheath, you can use a stick, toy sword, or even a water bottle instead.
