Join us for a revolutionary workshop with the renowned teacher Karim Nagi!
This class will bring dancers and drummers together to teach us how to perform and interact with each other.
Come as a dancer, as a drummer, or both!
Dancers will learn:
Drummers will learn:
Both dancers and drummers will learn how to both lead and follow each other.
Improvisation will be taught, as well as how to develop an entire Drum Solo Dance routine, with a perfect climax and finale ending!

Dancers will learn:
- How to respond to each rhythmic phrase
- How to coordinate body isolations with each drum passage
- How to dance properly with a drum solo
Drummers will learn:
- Famous Arabic rhythms
- Common phrases
- Drum solo themes
Both dancers and drummers will learn how to both lead and follow each other.
Improvisation will be taught, as well as how to develop an entire Drum Solo Dance routine, with a perfect climax and finale ending!

About the Instructor

Karim Nagi is a native Egyptian immigrant to the USA, and a true crossover artist uniting the Arab tradition with the global contemporary world.
He has released fourteen CDs, ranging from traditional Arab music to fusion and electronica. He has authored instructional videos for Arab percussive instruments and Arab dance styles. As a dance and drum teacher, Nagi has taught in dozens of festivals in the United States, Asia, Europe and Cairo, as well as most major Arab Culture festivals in the USA.
