An 8-Week Online Belly Dance Class Series January-February

If you want to delve deeper into your belly dance skills while learning more about the music, this class is for you!
Yamê is a belly dance teacher, performer, and Middle Eastern percussion student, and in this class she shares with you her growing knowledge of the relationship between music & dance.
Learn the most common rhythms found in belly dance, their musical and cultural context, and how to interpret them with beautiful movements and fun combinations!
In this 8-week course you will learn:
Common belly dance rhythms (with occasional live drumming demo by Yamê)
Musical/cultural context of each rhythm
How to dance to each rhythm
Complex belly dance techniques
Exciting combinations!
The classes will air live over Zoom video conference on the following Thursdays at 7:30-8:45pm EST: January 7, 14, 21, 28 February 4, 11, 18, 25
Each class is 1 hour 15 minutes long and you will receive an email with notes about the topics covered and/or a short video with the class combination or choreography within 24 hours of each class.
If you miss a class, you can make it up on a Tuesday or Wednesdaybefore the end of the series.
Some basic belly dance experience is required to take this class, however if you have no prior experience you can still take this class in conjunction with our beginner belly dance class.
